These are the variables to sort out:
What style of music? How loud do you want it? What size is the room? How many Guests? Is it purely for a background ambience? Are they going to dance? What playing times? What Band Dress Code? What setup space is available? Is there other music as well, eg a DJ?
For most occasions a four-piece of sax, piano, bass and drums is just right, playing a programme of 'standards' and well-known tunes. For a fuller sound, we'll scale it up to a five-piece with a trumpet/sax front line. If you want a more funky approach, we'll use guitar instead of piano, and bass guitar instead of double bass. If you want to dance, that also helps determine the line-up. We can put together anything from a Duo to a Big Band, to fit almost any occasion.
A Vocalist?
You can choose from a selection of male and female singers, again dependent on what style you're after. We have some really excellent 'Rat-Pack' Sinatra/Dean Martin style vocalists, that style goes down very well with all ages and musical tastes. A programme of swinging, timeless material adds a great 'Vegas' feel to the party. Good for dancing, too!
