WE’RE HERE ALL YEAR
Welcome to Edinburgh’s famed, multi-award-winning, non-stop focus for top-class music! We stage multi-genre gigs every single day, from jazz, blues, funk, soul and roots. Every single night we stage a wide range of high-quality music within a fabulous speakeasy-style ambience. Throughout the year we have 3 shows per day on average, but for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival throughout August we crank it up to NINE incredible shows per day from 1pm to 5am every day of the festival!
In August the venue is used by Fringe shows, who come in from all over the world to perform here. Each show is totally independent, and they’re all listed here, as well as in the official Fringe Programme and Website.
To book advance tickets for all shows, use the Fringe Box Office (on the Royal Mile), or you can pay cash (sorry – no cards!) at the door upon entry at showtime. NOTE: The venue does NOT take bookings, nor reserve seating for ANY shows. Advanced ticket purchases are not available at the venue, but you can book online on the Fringe website and collect from a ‘collection point’ venue such as our neighbour ‘C’ venue.

‘JAZZ BAR MUSIC’
As well as hosting independent Fringe shows, we stage our own programme of Jazz and Late Night Funk using our roster of truly outstanding local musicians. The Fringe Programme lists these as ‘Jazz Bar Music’ because our music is so varied, and so our programme so packed, it’s difficult to cram it all into the festival programme! Full details of specific ‘Jazz Bar Music’ listed shows are listed in this programme as well as on our website at www.thejazzbar.co.uk.
CHILDREN & YOUNG ADULTS
Under the terms of our licence we are obliged to observe City Council Regulations. Each show has an age limit shown. Please check these before bringing youngsters in!
Please note that all shows are partially seated on a first come, first served basis with advance ticket holders earning first entry. Doors open 15 minutes before the listed show start time, we will not be able to allow entry before this time as we are a single-room venue.
The venue is in the basement of an older (c1860) building, with access by two flights of stairs down. Unfortunately, the building layout and age does not allow us the space necessary to create disabled access or facilities. Under City of Edinburgh Council regulations, we are obliged to notify that any wheelchair users who wish to enter will have to be carried down and back up the stairs by their own assistants, who must remain with them at all times while inside the premises, in case of emergency evacuation. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience. For individual access inquiries please contact firstname.lastname@example.org so that we may best be able to cater to your needs and make your visit with us as smooth, easy and most of all enjoyable as possible.
Dress is smart/casual, but please, no shorts, tracksuits bottoms, or flip-flop footwear (due to the possibility of broken glass on the floor).
