The Tom Anderson plays Kenny Burrell

6.15pm-8.30pm, £9 Early Bird/ £12 on the door Tickets Here!

Premiering with their first performance, this new quintet unites leading musicians from Edinburgh and Glasgow, each with a wealth of experience performing across the UK, Europe, the USA, and South America. The lineup features Tom Anderson (guitar), Deke McGee (saxophone), Ed Kelly (bass), Malcom Herpich (drums), and José Rojas (congas).

Their sound is a laid-back fusion of jazz and blues, inspired by the cool sophistication of Kenny Burrell and Stanley Turrentine. For their debut, the ensemble will explore Burrell’s classic album Midnight Blue, along with a selection of other standards he performed — all delivered with warmth, swing, and subtle Latin inflections.

Ali Affleck

Award winning Old time jazz and blues vocalist.

Early jazz historian Ali has earned her solid reputation as the quintessential ‘go to’ vocalist for authentic trad Jazz / prohibition era blues. Representing the Pioneers of early music (particularly the forgotten heroines!) Ali’s fresh interpretations breathe new life into this highly specialized music and this sees her leading the charge for bringing old school Jazz back to the attention of our modern ears!
