A monthly night dedicated to showcasing Edinburgh’s blues scene. Hosted by Edinburgh blues mainstay Richard Price, we aim to highlight and provide a home for blues in the city. With a featured artist performing an hour of their set followed by an Open Blues Jam (starting 20:00). This is the night to see blues in the jazz bar every month.

The Jazz Bar’s all-inclusive jam session is back! On the first Thursday of every month, the Jazz Bar’s team of regular house musicians are here to welcome and guide any and all musicians, genres and abilities into the Edinburgh music scene for an evening of funky tunes and the opportunity to meet artists of all shapes and sizes!
At the end of the jam, the house band will play a set to close off the night.

Led by drummer Tom Gordon’s, his Kansas City 7 will bring us an evening of Swing Classics, inspired by the small groups of Count Basie, Benny Goodman and more. The septet will feature the talents of Scotland’s finest: Lorne Cowieson on trumpet, Dick Lee on reeds, Phil O Malley on trombone, Duncan Findlay as guitarist, Dave Patrick as pianist and Ewan Hastie on the double bass – and of course the fantastic Tom Gordon playing the drums. Excellent music for both listening and dancing!

Masters of the mighty Peruvian Cumbia Psicodélica.
This is the perfect late night gig to take us on a trip into the heart of a “chicha” cumbia groove laced with flavours that could only have come from right across the Amazon. Check out their recent EP “Caballo Savalvaje” to see why they are currently riding high on the Cumbia scene.

Marianne McGregor is celebrating the timeless voice and legacy of Ella Fitzgerald. With a programme dedicated to Ella’s vast repertoire.
Marianne McGregor and her band promise an evening of tender ballads, exhilarating up-tempo swing and sensational vocal improvisation.
Like Ella, Marianne uses her voice as an instrument, reacting to the band, playing with melody and phrasing, and creating moments of spontaneity and musical dialogue. A joyful, vibrant and expressive evening of song and superb musicianship.
