Brian Molley Quartet – March 25th

Graeme Mearns – Acoustic Swing

Here for your afternoon relaxation session, Graeme Mearns’ acoustic/swing/jazz in finger-pick style guitar, performing the classic Moon River. Graeme is with us every week performing a huge repertoire with a beautiful vocal tone and lightning fast hands. He was also with us on the last night that we were open, as he says “playing sad songs to cheer everyone up.”

Support Graeme by purchasing his music via Bandcamp or stream via Soundcloud.

BRIAN MOLLEY QUARTET

Booked into the programme for the 9pm slot, we are very sad to miss out on Brian Molley Quartet’s performance tonight. The quartet incororate musical influences from the world over with incredibly exciting results that allow the individual influences and styles to shine brightly, showcasing Eastern tones without overpowering them with Western textures, particularly in his collaborations with renowned Indian percussionist, Krishna Kishor (first video below). The music created has a very unique feel that is incredibly satisfying and uplifting.

“His tone is gorgeous, he never wastes a note” – All About Jazz.

To support the band, you can purchase music on Brian’s website, or send a donation directly via PayPal.me/brianmolley

Swampfog

After midnight, we are joined by New-Orleans-style big brass ensemble, Swampfog. Playing dirty, horn-heavy, swamp funk, the seven-piece mix originals with their own heavy takes on classics both funky and unexpected, their sound is a true transatlantic gumbo. The band have built a loyal following in recent years, collaborated twice with New Orleans’ Soul Brass Band, and even opened for Earth Wind & Fire, Chic and The Pointer Sisters in Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park.

You can download their music via Bandcamp for a ‘name your price’ digital download.

DONATE

You can continue to support us and the professional musicians who are struggling right now, by donating what you might usually spend on an entry fee or a drink, or any other amount that you wish. Professional musicians and all hospitality/event staff are facing an incredibly difficult time, having seen months of steady work disappear over-night. Any donations would be extremely appreciated to help us to continue to pay our staff through our closure and support our local event staff community in any way that we can.
