The Paul Paterson Trio return to the Jazz Bar for the first time since their successful appearance at the 2024 Django Reinhardt Festival in France. Lead guitarist Paul is accompanied by Charlotte Paterson on double bass and Iain McNally on rhythm guitar. Expect a lively evening of authentic early French jazz music of the 30s and 40s. Pete Horsfall is an award winning jazz trumpet player and vocalist, based in the UK. His unique musical journey has seen him featured regularly as a guest on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3 and Jazz FM. Pete has performed headline shows at a huge array of prestigious venues and festivals throughout the world, including London’s Royal Albert Hall, New York’s Lincoln Center, Paris’ Duc Des Lombards, The North Sea Jazz Festival, Glastonbury Festival and Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club amongst many others. In addition to leading his projects, Pete has performed and recorded with artists including Kurt Elling, Jamie Cullum, De La Soul, Guy Barker, Joe Stilgoe, Clare Teal, Kansas Smittys.

Bring your little ones to our Interactive Live Jazz Show! This isn’t just music—it’s a full-blown adventure into the world of early jazz, designed especially for younger audiences. It takes them right into the heart of the band, experiencing the magic of live acoustic instruments through music, dancing, fun, and play!

And parents, we’ve got you covered too! With our fully licensed bar, you can sip on your favourite cocktail, enjoy a cold beer, or unwind with a glass of wine while the kids groove to the tunes. And if you are doing Dry January- why not give our Famous Fiery Ginger Beer a try, we also have an impressive non-alcoholic beer selection.

But that’s not all—there’s a 30-minute disco after the show for anyone still needing to party and burn off even more energy!

The show starts at 3pm and consists of two 30min sets with a 20min break in between. 30min of disco to follow. Please arrive early- doors open at 2.30pm.

Drummer, composer, and producer Finlay Mackenzie has already begun to make an impression on the Scottish jazz scene, having played with many of Scotland’s top jazz musicians including Fergus McCreadie, Corto.alto, Tommy Smith and Helena Kay. From a young age, Finlay has been playing and performing around the country including with his own trio at many of Scotland’s top jazz festivals, and studied at the City of Edinburgh Music School before enrolling in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s’ jazz course. Finlay has also worked with and been taught by some of the world’s leading jazz musicians including Melissa Aldana, Jason Palmer, Phil Grenadier, Gilad Hekselman and various others.

Superbly creative guitarist Aki Remally (guitar/vocals) fronts this five-piece funk monster, playing tasty covers and heavy jams. Featuring Jonny White on saxophone, these guys will keep your feet moving all night long with the deep-funk rhythms of Toni McVey (drums), Tom Wilkinson (bass) and Michael Watson (keys).

The Faye Five

The Faye Five are a 1940s-style Jazz Quartet. The band play an array of classic jazz standards with emphasis on vintage-vocals, punchy dynamics and solos. Players Lewis Docherty (guitar), Richard Anderson (double bass), Chris Dickie (drums) and Alice Faye (vocalist) met at a jam in Glasgow and began to play together under Alice Faye’s solo project for her original songs. The band’s genesis is based on their shared love of swing, blues and manouche jazz, hence this subsidiary project ‘The Faye five’, where the band can play their favourite jazz standards and share their other musical joys!
