Fraser Urquhart, 2017 Scottish jazz award’s ‘Rising Star’, is one of Scotland’s most in-demand pianists celebrated for his classy touch infused with deep, mellow swing and heartfelt lyricism. Widely regarded for his vast repertoire, tonight Fraser leads his trio through a selection of classic swing, lesser-known Broadway showtunes and tender ballads from the back-catalogues of Gershwin, Porter, Ellington, Burton Lane etc.

With the tone of Amy Winehouse, an Ella-like improvisational freedom and the ability to capture emotion like Billie Holiday, singer Marianne McGregor is destined for success.  In 2021 she won ‘Best Vocalist’ at the 2021 Scottish Jazz Awards and now she fronts an all-star band including Brian Kellock on piano and Colin Steele on trumpet.

Poignant, lyrical, inventive, rising jazz star, drummer Richard Glassby produces music with great power and appeal. A versatile pianist who straddles the classical, pop and jazz worlds with ease. Known for her joyful and elegant style of swing jazz and improvisation, Amanda trained in Kansas City (USA) and is a recipient of the 2020 New York Hot Jazz Camp Scholarship. She is currently under the mentorship of Dutch-American stride pianist Bram Wijnands. Drawn to the swing and stride styles of 1930s/40s jazz, Singaporean pianist Amanda Lee is a rare breed in her generation of jazz pianists who strives to embody the roots and spirit of this tradition, bringing this treasured music to wider audiences. She is joined tonight by Andy Robb on bass, Colin Steele on trumpet and Jim Drummond on drums.
