World-renowned virtuoso saxophonist, Petter Wettre teams up with his fellow Norwegian Bjørn Solli, and local all-stars Andrew Robb and Alyn Cosker. Petter Wettre has won several Norwegian Grammy awards and opened international festivals and events such as the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony (2013) and Oslo Jazz Festival (2017), on top of extensive global touring including returning in 2018 to South Africa with an ensemble that pays tribute to Michael Brecker. Phoenician Blinds are steadily becoming a staple of the London jazz scene. Fusing modern jazz landscapes with hard hitting grooves and exploratory cinematic compositions, they bring a fresh perspective to the classic jazz outfit. London-based, yet Pan-European, Phoenician Blinds combine influences, creating a sound sure to make you groove and contemplate the essence of soulful music. The band comprises of Julian Knapp (Germany) on tenor and soprano sax, Tom Sochas (France) on piano, rhodes and synths, Oli Cross (UK) on electric bass, and Ayoze de Alejandro (Spain) on drums.

FOUR trumpets, FOUR trombones, FIVE saxes and FOUR rhythm! It’s a variable line-up of top-class pro players, who travel in from around Scotland to participate in this outstanding gig. Nowhere else can you hear this standard of regular Big Band playing. Led by saxophonist Keith Edwards, the personnel changes weekly, as does their selection of fantastic arrangements.
