Fraser Urquhart is one of the UK’s most in-demand pianists celebrated for his classy touch infused with deep, mellow swing and heartfelt lyricism. Widely regarded for his vast repertoire, tonight Fraser leads his trio through a selection of classic swing, lesser-known Broadway showtunes and tender ballads from the back-catalogues of Gershwin, Porter, Ellington, Burton Lane etc. The trio features his right-hand man on bass, Ed Kelly, and ace American drummer Max Popp.

Rediscover the golden age of swing jazz as jazz vocalist Ali pays fiery homage to the trailblazing and musically vital women of this style – from Ella Fitzgerald; Dinah Washington; Keely Smith; Maxine Sullivan; Peggy Lee and a few others in between. With a stellar supporting cast of Jim Drummond (drums), Roy Percy (bass) and Colin Steele (trumpet).

Superbly creative guitarist Aki Remally (guitar/vocals) fronts this five-piece funk monster, playing tasty covers and heavy jams. Featuring Jonny White on saxophone, these guys will keep your feet moving all night long with the deep-funk rhythms of Toni McVey (drums), Tom Wilkinson (bass) and Luke Cunningham (keys) Occasional guests ensure a night of heavy funking for all. An avid fan of Davis, Colin Steele is the master when it comes to paying homage to musical legends. With thrilling empathy, phenomenal solos and driving musical energy, Steele’s trumpet fronts a quintet covering classic arrangements of Miles Davis’ seminal albums of the 50s and 60s, especially Milestones and Kind of Blue. Neo-soul, trip-hop grooves and re-edited classics are delivered to your ears, feet and hips by this vocals-fronted band with a rhythm section to die for. Guaranteed to keep your feet moving and your jaw dropped. Featuring hot vocals from Fiona Lynch, funky guitar from Aki Remally, and dope grooves from Andrew Samson (drums) and Dougie Coulter (bass). The perfect prelude to those Hogmanay shenanigans…

PLUS Funk/Soul DJs all the way to 5am! (…fuelled by espresso martinis!)
